Drugs
The word ‘drugs’ covers a wide range of substances, some of which are legal and may be prescribed by a doctor and some of which are illegal. Many varieties of drugs both legal and illegal are freely available. If we believe the newspapers, we might think that every young person is “out of their head” on drugs most of the time. Mandy older people are shocked by drug use and many young people think adults don’t know what they are talking about and believe drug use is not as dangerous as it is said to be. Taking drugs which haven’t been prescribed for you by a doctor can be dangerous. Although not all drug use by young people is problematic, some drugs can damage your health or even kill you. After taking a drug, you may put yourself and others at risk because you don’t have full control over your actions and being under the influence of drugs can make you do things you would normally do. There are many stereotypes and myths surrounding drug use.
