Keyfund
Keyfund Gateshead is an informal youth-led learning programme that enables young people to develop skills, knowledge and self-awareness. Keyfund is a structured and resourced model of youth led grant giving.
Who can apply?
Keyfund Gateshead is available to groups of young people aged 11-25 who live in Gateshead. There must be at least 3 young people in the group.
Groups must be supported by a trained Keyfund Facilitator and the organisation, where they meet, must be a member Gateshead Youth Council.
Facilitators can work or volunteer for a variety of different organisations i.e. schools, youth clubs, uniformed groups, sport teams and other youth groups.
The Process is youth led learning based on the 12 Key Skills:

- Cope with stress & tension

- Settle disagreements
- Search for information & get advice
- Deal With people in power and authority
- Evaluate your own performance

- Agree your responsibilities and see them through
- Make decisions
Keyfund Criteria
- Must be youth led
- Must be young peoples idea and must benefit the community
- Young people must be from Gateshead
- Young people must be aged 11-25
- The group must be made up of 3 or more members
- The group must have a trained Keyfund facilitator
- The organisation must be a member of Gateshead Youth Council
- The group must follow the four Keyfund stages
- Must meet the 12 Keyfund skills
- Must be value for money
- Must be safe, legal and reasonably achievable
- Must respect equal opportunities
- All forms must be filled in correctly
- Proof of research and planning is required
- Young people applying must meet the panel and give a presentation
- Any money under spent must be returned
